Bayne, Kahne Both Crash in Final Monster Energy Cup Practice at Texas

The newly paved 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway, as well as the newly constructed areas in Turns 1 and 2, are causing havoc on the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers this weekend. Entering Sunday’s race, six drivers have crashed in separate practice incidents so far this weekend. Throw in Jimmie Johnson’s spin in qualifying on Friday afternoon too, and seven of the 40 drivers have already had an issue so far this weekend.

TALLADEGA, Ala – Friday was Fast Friday for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, as with this weekend being a restrictor plate race, the top brass gave the teams two practice sessions today to get acclimated to drafting on the 2.66-mile high banked Talladega Superspeedway.
