Josef Newgarden Driver to Watch This Weekend at Phoenix

INDIANAPOLIS – Most of the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock feels that the Chevrolet teams should once again be the ones to beat this weekend in the return trip to the Phoenix International Raceway. In the test at the 1.022-mile track in February of 2016, Chevy drivers shined. They backed that up in leading all 250 laps in the race last April, with taking the top four finishing spots and eight of the top nine. Fast forward to this year. In the open test back in February, Chevy drivers shined again. Despite…

Tires Indirectly Help Josef Newgarden Win Again at Barber

Leeds, Ala – Most of the 21 Verizon IndyCar Series drivers started Sunday’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama on the Firestone alternate tires. Actually, it was 17 drivers to be exact. For Josef Newgarden, that proved to be a major reason to why he was standing on the Barber Motorspots Park podium for the third straight year.

Despite Power’s Tire, Team Penske Caps Dominating Weekend at Barber

Leeds, Ala – Entering this weekend’s Verizon IndyCar Series race at the Barber Motorsports Park, Team Penske had yet to win a race this season. Will Power Earns Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama Pole

Leeds, Ala – Will Power has clearly been the class of the field this weekend at the Barber Motorsports Park. Power, was the only driver to eclipse the 1:06-second barrier this weekend, doing so in practice this morning, and now in the Fast Six this afternoon, en route to his 46th career Verizon IndyCar Series pole.

Penske Dominating This Weekend at Barber

Leeds, Ala – We’re only two races into the Verizon IndyCar Series season, and with all the expectations that Team Penske will run away with this year’s championships, they surprisingly only have two drivers in the top five of the standings right now. They’ve also yet to reach victory lane too, which in my mind, despite their slow start, could change as quickly as this weekend. The series visits the Barber Motorsports Park for the eighth annual Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. The scenic Alabama road course has been very kind…

Will Joey Logano End Up in Victory Lane Sunday in Bristol?

The start to the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season has gone about as good as Joey Logano could have hoped for. He obviously would have loved to win a race by now, as he’s watched his Team Penske teammate Brad Keselowski win twice already this season, but where Logano is thriving, is his consistency up front. Through the first seven races of the season, Logano has six top six finishes in those seven starts. He’s finished sixth, sixth, fourth, 31st, fifth, fourth and now third respectively. He’s also…

From Last to 5th, Simon Pagenaud Has a Stellar Drive in Long Beach

Long Beach, Calif – Days like today, they’re not wins on the scoreboard, but they’re days that lead to championships. Simon Pagenaud could have faced a steep climb in defending his Verizon IndyCar Series championship with starting last among the 21-car field on Sunday, instead of letting that affect his race, Pagenaud drove through the field to a fifth place finish in today’s Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Pagenaud, quickly went from 21st to the top 10, as he was running as high as ninth by Lap 10. Then, after…
