Team Penske Looking For 6th Barber Win In 9 Years

Trends say that someone other than Team Penske will win Sunday’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama (3:30 p.m. ET/NBCSN/INDYCAR Radio Network). Odds say otherwise. Team Penske is going for their sixth Barber Motorsports Park win in the nine years that the Verizon IndyCar Series has been racing there. Helio Castroneves won in 2010. Will Power won in back-to-back years from 2011 and 2012. Simon Pagenaud won in 2016. Josef Newgarden won last year.

Penske Duo Hoping For Same Richmond Success, But Better Luck Leaving The Spring Race This Time Around

Last year, the then Team Penske duo of Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski left the Richmond Raceway in the spring race with a 1-2 finish. Logano, capitalized on a late caution to take his No. 22 Ford to victory lane. Keselowski, led 110 laps and finished runner-up in his No. 2 Ford. At that point, Logano had eight top six finishes through the first nine races of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. Keselowski, has seven top sixes in those same nine races. But, after that race, Logano was…

Team Penske Falters Out In Food City 500 at Bristol

I originally didn’t expect much out of the Team Penske trio for this weekend’s Food City 500 at the Bristol (Tenn) Motor Speedway. In the two race practices on Saturday morning, they were seventh (Joey Logano), 20th (Ryan Blaney) and 28th (Brad Keselowski) in the first session, followed by 16th (Blaney), 20th (Keselowski) and 21st (Logano) in final practice. But, in the race itself, they were all three actually very strong.

Honda’s, Past Winners Fastest In INDYCAR Practice on Friday in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif – The Verizon IndyCar Series is back in action this weekend for the annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (4 p.m. ET/NBCSN/INDYCAR Radio Network). In preparation for Sunday 85 Lap race, the drivers and team had two practice sessions around the 1.968-mile Southern California street course on Friday to get up to speed. The story of the day, Honda’s speed. Honda’s have by far been the most dominant manufacturer out of the gates this season. They’ve won both poles and led 67-percent of the overall laps so…

Honda Drivers Leading The Way This Weekend, But Penske Cars Right There Too

AVONDALE, AZ – It’s no secret, the season opening Verizon IndyCar Series race on the streets of St. Pete were less than stellar for Team Penske. The storied organization had dominated on the 1.8-mile street course. Heading into this year’s race, they had won a record setting eight times. Will Power had also won poles in seven of the last eight years. Instead, they never really were a huge factor. They’d start 2-11-13 and finish 7-10-13. They’d lead zero laps in the process. But, despite such a ho-hum start to the…

Can Kyle Busch Or Martin Truex Jr. Dethrone Kevin Harvick And Team Penske On Sunday In Texas

It’s not much of a secret, the top drivers to beat in Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 (2 p.m. ET/FS1/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) is going to be Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick and the Team Penske trio of drivers. That’s six drivers that could honestly finish in spots 1-6. With how the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season is shaping up so far, I really can’t see anyone other than these six drivers winning the acutal race this weekend. The favorite has to be Harvick though right?

Castroneves Shines In 1st Test In New INDYCAR On Tuesday

LEEDS, Ala – Last June, word started circulating around the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock that Helio Castroneves could be in his final full time season in the sport. The rumor was that Team Penske would be downsizing to three cars for a full season and that Castroneves would be the one getting left out. But, on the flip side, the team was going to get their feet wet in IMSA and start a two car team over there. Castroneves and former full time driver Juan Pablo Montoya would be their top…

Penske Trio Looking To Continue 2018 Success This Weekend in Martinsville

For the second time over the last three weeks, Team Penske saw all three of their cars come away with top 10 finishes. It happened for the first time in team history three weeks ago in Las Vegas, then again last weekend in Fontana. Now, they’ll try to do it again in Sunday’s STP 500 (2 p.m. ET/FS1/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) at the Martinsville Speedway. There’s a good shot of it happening too.

Team Penske Puts All 3 Cars In The Top 10 For 2nd Time in 3 Weeks

FONTANA, Calif – While the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season is shaping up to be a battle of Kevin Harvick vs. Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch, one organization is right there hanging with them. Team Penske hasn’t won a race let in 2018, and quite frankly, they’ve really never had enough speed to do so yet, but they’re been very solid on the contrary. For the second time in three races, all three Penske cars will leave the race weekend with a top 10 finish.
