Big 3 Dominate Pocono With Truex Earning Pocono 400 Victory

Why else would anyone think that this year’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series “Big 3” would dominate Sunday’s race at the Pocono Raceway? Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. had the top three speeds in final practice on Saturday and all three started in the top five for Sunday’s Pocono 400. So, when the trio combine to lead 133 of the 160 laps for Sunday’s race and take three of the top four finishing positions, is anyone really shocked?

Kyle Busch Overcomes Early Pit Road Speeding Penalty, Dominates XFINITY Series Race In Pocono

It only took two laps before Kyle Busch moved his way into the lead in Saturday afternoon’s Pocono Green 250. He’d easily win the first stage of the race and look like he’d have the car to beat at the Pocono Raceway this weekend. But, on his first pit stop after the opening stage break, his No. 18 Toyota was hit with a speeding penalty. That forced him to the back.

Ryan Blaney returns to the race weekend that netted him his first and current only Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory. Last year, Blaney held off Kevin Harvick en route to a win in the June Pocono race weekend. Now, in the return trip, Blaney earned the Busch Light Pole. Blaney’s final-round lap of 176.897 mph in the Team Penske No. 12 Ford sealed the No. 1 starting spot in Sunday’s Pocono 400 (2 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN, SiriusXM). Blaney, who scored his first Monster Energy Series victory in this…

Logano Has Led A Ton Of Laps In Pocono, Just Doesn’t Have The Finishes, His Teammate Keselowski Has Been Dominant Instead

The “big three” among the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers should be the ones to beat this weekend in Pocono. After all, when Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick have combined to win 10 of the first 13 races of the season, you can’t go against them. But, this may be the time when Team Penske lands in victory lane again. So far, Joey Logano is the only one of the three drivers to win in 2018. Can he or his two other Team Penske teammates of…

Look For Sunday’s Pocono 400 (2 p.m. ET/FS1/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) To Be Dominated By NASCAR’s Big 3 Right Now

As we have reached the midway mark of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series regular season, it’s a preconceived notion that three of the four spots for the Championship 4 at Homestead are already accounted for. Between Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr., the championship at this point goes through them. Combined, they’ve won 10 of the first 13 races in 2018. With this weekend’s race being at the Pocono Raceway, I don’t see how someone other than these three drivers land in victory lane in Sunday’s Pocono…
