McDowell Could Really Shake Up Playoff Field With Win Sunday In Watkins Glen

I’ve been talking about him all week and as we head into Sunday’s GoBowling at the Glen (2:30 p.m. ET/NBC/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) Michael McDowell is backing up my claims that he could be a big sleeper this weekend. McDowell, is a road racer by nature. His lone NASCAR victory came at Road America in the NASCAR XFINITY Series a few years ago. In fact, most of his racing background is in road racing. The only reason he hasn’t had more success in NASCAR on road courses is all due to…

Michael McDowell Sees Big Night End In Crash

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Michael McDowell looked to be among the best drivers in terms of skill for this weekend’s Coke Zero Sugar 400. He avoided several crashes all night and his position in the top 10 for most of the race at the Daytona International Speedway was on merit, not luck. McDowell, did a great job of staying up front and narrowly escaped carnage in both early race melees. He started eighth and led the race for 20 Laps on Saturday night overall. Only one driver led more. Unfortunately, the…

McDowell Driver To Watch For Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 (3 p.m. ET/FS1/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio

We could very well see a 10th straight different winner in Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 (3 p.m. ET/FS1/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) at the Sonoma Raceway. Beginning with Kasey Kahne’s 2009 win on the wine country track, we’ve seen a different driver win in every year since. Seeing how both Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practices shaped up on Friday, it’s looking like we very well could see another new winner on Sunday afternoon. But, one driver is standing out among others that could not just win on Sunday, but he could…

Front Row Motorsports, Leavine Family Racing Legit Sleepers This Weekend in Bristol

We have definitely seen a few Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers separate themselves from the pack as favorites. Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and a few others come to mind. But, there are some solid sleeper picks out there, a few have inched closer to the favorite rankings. Both Front Row Motorsports cars as well as Leavine Family Racing’s Kasey Kahne are there. Yes, they’re the top sleepers and this isn’t on a restrictor plate track. Lets start with FRM.

Michael McDowell Quietly Getting The Job Done This Weekend in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV – I think if most people gave you a list of all 37 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers that are starting Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) and had you rank them among five favorites and five sleepers, Michael McDowell’s name likely wouldn’t come up on either list. His name isn’t even on the board as possible drivers to bet, as he’s part of the “field” at 500/1. Since we’re at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway anyways, McDowell is showing that he could possibly make…

Front Row Motorsports Sleeper Team To Watch For Sunday’s Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Now that most of the preliminary stuff is behind us, the full focus for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is on the 60th annual Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). The big storyline leading up to the season opener at the Daytona International Speedway is how the race itself will be run. Right now, no one really knows. It’s a big question mark. One thing that we do know, is that the Ford camp will be strong. They’ve been the class of the field during…
