Force, Hight, Line Wins AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals

It was a great day for John Force Racing on Sunday. In both Top Fuel as well as Funny Car competition, their drivers reached victory lane in cutting their points deficits as well. In Top Fuel, Brittany Force earned her third win of the 2017 season in her Monster Energy dragster as she topped seventh seeded Shawn Langdon in the final round in the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals. Force, was the fifth qualifier this weekend but knocked out fourth qualifier Doug Kalitta in the second round and top qualifier…

Brittany Force Knows She Lucked Out At St. Louis, Eyeing Texas Success This Weekend

Brittany Force knows she was lucky to escape St. Louis still being third in the Top Fuel points standings. After a strong qualifying run she was knocked out in just the second round by Doug Kalitta. Luckily, there were a lot of upsets which allowed her to stay within striking distance. But, she knows that can’t happen again. “Leaving St. Louis, we got a little lucky,” Force said. “Things didn’t change that much. We still picked up bonus points, we went a couple rounds, and we maintained No. 3 position,…

Funny Car Championship Likely Between Ron Capps vs. Robert Hight

There’s now just three races left in the Mello Yello NHRA Drag Racing Series season. The teams head to Texas this weekend, Vegas in two weeks and Pomona in a month. That’s all that’s left in 2017 for the series. With that being said, the Funny Car championship is likely down to a battle between just two drivers now, Ron Capps vs. Robert Hight. Capps, currently leads Hight by just 46 points heading into this weekend’s event, as making up points on these two will be tough to come by…

Top Fuel Championship Coming Down To 3 Horse Race, Likely Torrence’s To Lose

As the Mello Yello NHRA Drag Racing Series heads to Texas, one thing is starting to get clearer, the Top Fuel championship race is down to a three driver battle. In my opinion, Steve Torrence, Doug Kalitta and Brittany Force are going to be the favorites to duke it out of the final three rounds. Currently, Torrence leads Kalitta by 42 points and Force by 83. While Antron Brown (-94), Clay Millican (-141), Tony Schumacher (-142) and Leah Pritchett (-152) are all more than capable of making a final push…

To make matters even better, it was upset city in the ladders. In Top Fuel competition, none of the top four qualifiers made it past the second round. In Funny Car, Jonnie Lindberg advanced all the way to his third final round appearance of his career. What a weekend it was. Speaking of Top…

Friday Night’s Passes Stand, Millican, Hight, Butner Quickest Qualifiers At Maple Grove

Like usual, Friday’s passes in the Mello Yello NHRA Drag Racing Series proved to be the quickest times of the weekend for the Nitro division of the NHRA circuit. The top qualifiers for the 33rd annual Dodge NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway all turned their quickest times on Friday. In Funny Car, records were broken.
