Kasey Kahne Looking To Play Sleeper Role This Weekend In Sonoma

The Stewart-Haas Racing camp are obviously the favorites heading into Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 (3 p.m. ET/FS1/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). They have won seven of the first 15 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races in 2018 including the last one two weeks ago in Michigan. They’d finish 1-2-3 that day. Plus, they’ve also reached victory lane in the last two races in Sonoma. But, I have my eye on a sleeper per say for this weekend’s race. No, I’m not talking about AJ Allmendinger. I’m talking about Kasey Kahne. While he’s…

Kasey Kahne Sleeper to Watch Sunday In Atlanta, Outperforming All Hendrick Cars

HAMPTON, Ga – After six rather disappointing seasons with Hendrick Motorsports, Kasey Kahne was left with a new team for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season. Kahne, in some peoples mind, took a step back from a team with unlimited resources like Hendrick has down to a team with Leavine Family Racing now. Nothing against LFR, but their equipment isn’t like Hendrick’s is. In six years in his No. 5 Chevrolet with HMS, Kahne reached victory lane just six total times. That’s the same amount of wins that he…

It’s the spot where Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon have won nine times a piece. In fact, among those 24 wins at Martinsville are five different drivers.

Kasey Kahne Quietly Getting The Job Done This Weekend in New Hampshire

While Kasey Kahne’s Hendrick Motorsports teammates of Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson struggled on Friday, there Kahne was quietly excelling. Both Elliott and Johnson found the SAFER barrier during the lone practice session of the day at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Friday. Both would also have to revert to backup cars as a result. In that same practice, Kahne was there in P3 on the overall speed chart, best among all Hendrick drivers. In qualifying, he qualified his No. 5 Chevrolet ninth for Sunday’s ISM Connect 300 (2…

In that practice, we saw two playoff contenders find the…
