Bourdais Quietly A Strong Contender To Win Saturday’s INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network)

INDIANAPOLIS – Sebastien Bourdais joked on Thursday that while he’s had speed on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, he hasn’t had the results. “I think I managed 28 laps over the last two editions so I’ll try and up that a little bit,” Bourdais said on Thursday from the IMS Media Center. “We had a mechanical failure two years ago, and last year another mechanical failure. It’s kind of weird because we never have really even — between the KV and the Dale Coyne, we’ve never really had any mechanical…

IMS Road Course Quickly Becoming Drivers’ Favorite On The INDYCAR Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS – When the INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) was first unveiled for the 2014 Verizon IndyCar Series season, it was met with some resistance. It seemed sacrilegious to have another INDYCAR race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and not host it on the famed 2.5-mile oval. To put the icing on the cake, they were going to do it in the Month of May too? Well, now that we’re entering year five of the event, it’s now being met with rave reviews from not just the fans,…

Andretti Autosport Eyeing Better INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network), Calls It a Momentum Race

INDIANAPOLIS – Its no secret, the INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) hasn’t been kind to the Andretti Autosport drivers in the brief history of the Verizon IndyCar Series event. Ryan Hunter-Reay is the only one of the four drivers to finish on the podium in the race, as he did so in a second place run in 2014 as well as a third place result last year. He led 18 laps in that inaugural race, but zero since. Marco Andretti has finishes of 14th, 16th, 15th and 16th…

Carlin Duo Capable Of Good Finishes Saturday At Indy

INDIANAPOLIS – Barber was a rough race for the Carlin duo. The weekend started off superb for both Max Chilton and Charlie Kimball, but the race, well that was anything but. Both drivers had their best qualifying efforts of the year there with both sharing Row 7. But, just a handful of laps into the race itself, Charlie Kimball was crashed by Ed Jones. He’d finish last. When the race was restarted on Monday, Chilton’s car wouldn’t start. He’d finish in the back too. While they head to this weekend’s INDYCAR…

Scott Dixon Hoping INDYCAR Grand Prix Improvement Leads Him To Victory Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS – It’s shocking that out of the first four years of the INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) that Scott Dixon hasn’t won here yet. Dixon, is arguably one of the best drivers in the history of the Verizon IndyCar Series and he’s been shut out of victory lane in the road course race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In fact, the race didn’t initially start out that well for Dixon. He finished 15th in the inaugural race in 2014. The next year, he’d lead just one lap…

Trends Say Saturday’s INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) Will Aid Pagenaud

INDIANAPOLIS – There’s no doubt about it, the start to the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season hasn’t been ideal for Simon Pagenaud. The Frenchman saw his 24 race streak of finishing on the lead lap come to an end in a first lap crash in the first corner last month at Long Beach. Pagenaud, has also yet to score a top five finish this season and has only led just three laps in four races in the process. That has him marred 15th in the points standings heading into Saturday’s INDYCAR…

INDIANAPOLIS – No one is driving as well as Josef Newgarden lately. Since last July, Newgarden has won exactly 50-percent of the Verizon IndyCar Series races. In fact, in four starts this season, Newgarden has won exactly half of them too, including the last race at the Barber Motorsports Park. So, you would think he’d be a favorite for Saturday’s INDYCAR Grand Prix (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) right. What’s weird is, he’s not right now. In four tries on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Newgarden has yet to finish…
