Josef Newgarden’s Move To Penske Proving To Be Among Best Moves Ever Made In INDYCAR

LEEDS, Ala – While everyone will probably say that other moves were equally if not more important, I can make several points in case that Josef Newgarden’s move to Team Penske may be one of the biggest moves ever made in the history of this sport. Think about it. Look at where the series was heading into the 2017 season. Look at where it is now. Growth, growth, growth and more growth. The only main thing missing moving forward was that talented, yet marketable American driver. Now we have it.

LEEDS, Ala – What a day it was on Monday for the entire Rahal/Letterman/Lanigan Racing group. On Sunday, when the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama was started, they were dead in the water. Graham Rahal couldn’t see anything and even spun under caution. He’d restart the race on Monday in 14th. Weather and Strategy Costs Rossi A Top 5 Finish On Monday At Barber

LEEDS, Ala – While Alexander Rossi certainly didn’t have a car to win Monday’s rain delayed Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, he did have a car good enough for a podium finish at the Barber Motorsports Park. At the very least, he should have logged another top five finish instead. But, Rossi was on the wrong end of a strategy call, which caused him to finish 11th in the water logged event. That’s his worst finish since the 2017 season finale at Sonoma and just his second finish outside of…

Five of those are runner-up efforts, as he’s never taken his No. 9 Honda to victory lane in Barber. It was an eventful weekend though for Dixon.
