Team Penske Puts All 3 Cars In The Top 10 For 2nd Time in 3 Weeks

FONTANA, Calif – While the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season is shaping up to be a battle of Kevin Harvick vs. Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch, one organization is right there hanging with them. Team Penske hasn’t won a race let in 2018, and quite frankly, they’ve really never had enough speed to do so yet, but they’re been very solid on the contrary. For the second time in three races, all three Penske cars will leave the race weekend with a top 10 finish.

Logano Dominates XFINITY Series Race in Fontana

FONTANA, Calif – Saturday was all about Joey Logano. The Team Penske driver took the lead on Lap 4 and lead the next 116 laps in the process. He’d lead all but 11 for the race overall, en route to the dominating victory in Saturday’s Roseanne 300 at the Auto Club Speedway. It was Logano’s 29th career series win, tying Matt Kenseth for seventh all-time. Three of those 29 have come in Fontana (2009, 2012, 2018). But, this is his first with Penske and the No. 22 Ford. The trip to…

Common Theme Among NASCAR Teams Caught Cheating In Qualifying

FONTANA, Calif – I already wrote about the embarrassment that was formerly known as qualifying for Sunday’s Auto Club 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). It was a bad look for the sport. But, when I took a deeper look at the teams that didn’t make it even to pit road from the technical inspection area in the Auto Club Speedway, a few themes were apparent. First off, from what I heard, most if not all the teams failed in one common area – the back of the car. That was…

The NASCAR circus stays out west for one final week as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams will take to the 2-mile Auto Club Speedway this weekend. The Auto Club 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) will conclude the NASCAR Goes West Tour. The race is the only trip to the Los Angeles area of the year, as it annually puts on one heck of a race. Here are some storylines and trends to watch.

5 Favorites, 5 Sleepers and a Don’t Touch List For Sunday’s Auto Club 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)

With the NCAA Tournament starting up this week, it’s a great time of year to be talking about favorites and sleepers. So why not put out an early favorites and sleepers list for Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at the Auto Club Speedway? Everyone loves a good Cinderella story right? Well, with how Kevin Harvick’s been dominating the Cup Series races this season, there’s some good underdog situations for this weekend’s Auto Club 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Here’s the list I have for this weekend.

Can Harvick Make It 4 In-A-Row? Why Sunday’s Race May Come Down to SHR vs. JGR and Penske

Kevin Harvick is on the verge of NASCAR history and could do so this weekend in Fontana. If Harvick wins Sunday’s Auto Club 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) it would be his fourth consecutive win. Only a small handful of drivers have ever won four straight Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races. Also, he would have reached victory lane in four of the first five races to start the season too. Again, only a few drivers have ever done that too. Harvick, led 181 of the 325 laps in…

Why I’m a Little Skeptical On Hendrick Motorsports This Weekend in Fontana

Statistically, the Auto Club Speedway has been kind to Hendrick Motorsports over the years. While Alex Bowman hasn’t raced on the 2-mile California track before for Hendrick, he was very good at its sister track in Michigan during the 2016 season in the race that he filled in for Dale Earnhardt Jr. William Byron is a rookie and coming off of a momentum changing race last weekend in Phoenix, a race that he led his first career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series laps in and finished 12th. Chase Elliott and…

Joe Gibbs Racing Drivers Once Again Ones To Watch This Weekend in Fontana, Be Wary Of Hamlin Though

Obviously, the talk of the NASCAR garage and favorite for Sunday’s Auto Club 400 (3:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) has to be Kevin Harvick. He’s going for four straight Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victories this weekend in Fontana, a feat he can honestly pull off too. But, if anyone is going to derail Harvick’s dominance, look no further than the Joe Gibbs Racing camp. JGR heads to Fontana with some momentum. In fact, the 2-mile California track suits their drivers very well. Kyle Busch has finished second in each…

Can Larson Keep Winning Streak Going On 2 Mile Tracks This Weekend In Fontana

Just call him two-mile Kyle if you want. There’s been nobody better on both two-mile D-Shaped NASCAR tracks over the last two years than Kyle Larson. In fact, if you go back to August of 2016, no one has won a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series nor NASCAR XFINITY Series race that Larson had entered at both the Auto Club Speedway or Michigan International Speedway, other than Larson himself. In 2016, Larson earned his first career Cup victory at Michigan. There was no XFINITY Series race at Michigan in August.…
