Hildebrand To Make 1st Doubleheader Start, Pigot Returns to Place He 1st Joined ECR

Belle Isle, MI – This weekend’s Chevrolet Duels in Detroit (3:30 p.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) will hold a special memory for both Ed Carpenter Racing drivers. For Spencer Pigot, he returns to the team after being on loan to Juncos Racing in the Indianapolis 500. This weekend’s race on the streets of Belle Isle is also a spot that marks the one-year anniversary of him first joining ECR a year ago. Last season, Pigot had a three-race deal with Rahal/Letterman/Lanigan Racing. That deal ended at Indy. ECR was left searching for…

INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday, the Ed Carpenter Racing duo excelled at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway despite very windy conditions. Ed Carpenter said it wasn’t necessarily fun to practice in those conditions that day, but it was beneficial for the learning experience. To me, it looked like they found something on race trim. Then, they later found something on qualifying trim.

JR Hildebrand Has Career Weekend at Phoenix

Avondale, AZ – I don’t know what it is, but it sounds like every driver that needs some good luck should hop into the No. 21 Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet, get injured, then return. Last year, Josef Newgarden raced injured and thrived after his injury. Avondale, AZ – You could forgive JR Hildebrand if he was a little off this weekend at the Phoenix International Raceway. He’d miss last weekend’s race in Barber, and now here he is, still healing, still in some pain, competing on the most physically demanding track on the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule, running up front.

ECR Duo Looking Forward to Racing in Historic Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach

INDIANAPOLIS – It seems to be a common theme around the Verizon IndyCar Series paddock this week, they’re all looking forward to racing on the streets of Long Beach. The common wording being thrown around about this weekend’s race is “historic” “iconic” or even the phrase “one of my favorite street courses.” The same goes for both Ed Carpenter Racing drivers. Spencer Pigot will make his first IndyCar start on the 1.968-mile southern California track, but it won’t be his first career start there. Pigot, who’s car this weekend will feature…
