Despite Late Race Pit Penalty, Ryan Blaney Drives To 2nd Place Run In Alsco 300

Sparta, KY – The best car didn’t win on Saturday afternoon. Yes, Kyle Busch started on the pole and led 70 laps in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at the Kentucky Speedway, but Ryan Blaney showed in the end that his No. 12 Ford may have actually been the best car in the 40 car Alsco 300 field. Sparta, KY – Kyle Busch decided to stay out and not pit on a late race caution, that moved proved to be the winning one. When Ray Black Jr. spun his No. 07 Chevrolet on Lap 168, the eighth and final caution flag flew. That was a time for the leaders who were close on fuel to hit pit road at the Kentucky Speedway for the final time for Sunoco fuel and fresh Goodyear tires. Busch, bet on himself and his car.

Sparta, KY – Kyle Busch was toying with the field for the first two rounds of Coors Light Pole Award qualifying at the Kentucky Speedway on Friday afternoon. Busch, was 17th and fourth respectively through the first two rounds at the 1.5-mile track.
