INDIANAPOLIS – In a day and age where ratings are dipping across all forms of sports around the world, one broadcast is still thriving. On Wednesday, the Verizon IndyCar Series revealed a stat that showed they had tremendous growth on the INDYCAR Radio Network for the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500. Per a study from GfK Custom Research, they concluded that 20.5 million listeners in America tuned into the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 at some point during the day on May 28. Scott Dixon and Jay Howard Involved in Scary Crash on Lap 52 in Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS – The 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 was running about as clean as a start as it could have gone. It has reminiscences of the 2014 start that saw more than 150 laps run at the start without a caution. Until Lap 52. Jay Howard, who had an issue early on in the race, got high in Turn 1 and got into the outside SAFER barrier as a result. Unfortunately, pole sitter Scott Dixon had no where to go, as Howard slowly skated off the wall and back into…

Making a Case for Fernando Alonso to Win the 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500

INDIANAPOLIS – When Fernando Alonso first announced in April that he’d race in this year’s 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 (11 a.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network) it turned a ton of heads around the world. A current Formula One driver, a world champion at that, is skipping F1’s biggest race and driving in IndyCar’s biggest race. Now that we have reached race week here in Indy, I don’t think any of us could have scripted a much better month for the Spaniard.

Defending Indy 500 Champion Alexander Rossi to Start on the Front Row for the 101st Running

INDIANAPOLIS – Last year, Alexander Rossi had no idea what to expect when he came to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the first time as a wide eyed rookie. He was disappointed in his qualifying result, as he narrowly missed out on the Firestone Fast Nine. He’d start 11th. But, he never thought that even starting towards the front that he’d end up in victory lane when it was all said and done. Now that he’s done that, he doesn’t want to ever let anyone take that feeling away. He…

Ed Carpenter Racing Duo With a Good Shot of Indy 500 Victory

INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday, the Ed Carpenter Racing duo excelled at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway despite very windy conditions. Then, they later found something on qualifying trim.
