8 Days After Indy 500 Qualifying Crash, Sebastien Bourdais Arrives

INDIANAPOLIS – Just eight days ago, Dale Coyne Racing driver Sebastien Bourdais had a scary crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during his qualifying run. He was on pace to earn the top speed of the day last Saturday, but his No. 18 Honda found the Turn 2 SAFER barrier at an impact rate of 227 mph instead. The g-forces he sustained were 118.

INDIANAPOLIS – Team Penske wasn’t happy with their qualifying effort last weekend for this year’s 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 (11 a.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network). James Hinchcliffe Blows Engine in Final Practice on Carb Day, Should Honda Be Worried?

INDIANAPOLIS – Just 29 laps into his Carb Day practice run, James Hinchcliffe blew an engine on his No. 5 Honda. What’s strange is the Schmidt-Peterson Motorsports driver just came out of his pit stall when the green flag came back out. Bourdais Released From Hospital on Wednesday

Verizon IndyCar Series driver Sebastien Bourdais, injured in a crash May 20 during a qualifying attempt for the 101st Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, was discharged from IU Health Methodist Hospital on Wednesday and has been moved to a local rehabilitation facility. Bourdais sustained multiple pelvic fractures and a fractured right hip when his No. 18 GEICO Honda crashed into the SAFER Barrier in Turn 2 on the third lap of his qualifications attempt Saturday. The Dale Coyne Racing driver underwent successful surgery that evening at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
