JGR Announces Crew Chief Changes Including Chris Gabehart Becoming Denny Hamlin’s New Crew Chief

Joe Gibbs Racing announced some crew chief changes on Thursday. Chris Gabehart will now serve as crew chief on the No. 11 Toyota for Denny Hamlin. Gabehart spent the past three seasons as a crew chief in JGR’s Xfinity Series program, capturing a total of nine wins over that time. Eric Phillips will also make the move from the Xfinity Series to assume the role of car chief with the No. 11 team. Nemechek To Drive Full Time For GMS Racing In The XFINITY Series In 2018

John Hunter Nemechek took a chance on himself last year and it paid off. Instead of competing for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship, he went part time and drove select races for Chip Ganassi Racing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series too. It paid off.
