We all figured it was coming. When Jimmie Johnson and Fernando Alonso shared social media videos of an upcoming deal with the duo, a ride swap was likely on the horizon. Well, on Friday, it came to fruition.
Seven-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Johnson and Formula One world champion Alonso will do a ride swap on Nov. 26 at the Bahrain International Circuit. The deal comes a day after the 2018 F1 season finale on the same 3.363-mile circuit.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. In 2003, Jeff Gordon and Juan Pablo Montoya did a ride swap at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where Gordon drove Montoya’s Williams F1 car and Montoya in Gordon’s famed No. 24 Chevrolet. Then, in 2011, Tony Stewart and Lewis Hamilton exchanged rides at Watkins Glen too.
