INDIANAPOLIS – The initial entry list was released on Tuesday night for the fourth annual Junior Knepper 55. The 55-lap feature event in Duquoin, Ill. will take place on an indoor 1/6-mile dirt track. The event may be in it’s early stages but by judging by the first three years of its existence, this has quickly become one of the better offseason events of the year.
In 2016, Tyler Courtney won his first career USAC Midget race in this event. Last year, Christopher Bell triumphed in it. In the inaugural race in 2015, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. found victory lane too.
Among the early entrants that was announced was that of Conor Daly. The Noblesville native has made 43 career IndyCar starts, five of which in the Indianapolis 500. Back in September, Daly made his dirt debut in competing in the inaugural BC 39 presented by NOS Energy Drink at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Now, he will get another shot in a USAC Midget.
Daly, steps into the Jody Rosenboom No. 22CD entry.
Overall, 33 drivers were entered so far with more likely yet to come.
Doors open for the event at 2:30pm (Central) on December 15. A public drivers meeting will take place in the grandstands at 3:30pm. Cars are scheduled to get on track for hot laps at 4pm.
The race will be streamed LIVE on http://www.SpeedShiftTV.com/ with LIVE audio on the USAC app. As always, you can catch each and every USAC National event a day after the race is run, on-demand, on http://www.Loudpedal.TV/.
