ELKHART LAKE, Wis – At first, you may not notice much different about Ed Jones’ No. 10 Honda when it flies by you on the 4.014-mile Road America circuit this weekend. “Data” will be seen on his blue and white colored Verizon IndyCar Series machine this weekend. But, it’s a different kind of “Data” on his car and a different shade of blue.
Instead of his usual NTT Data and light blue paint scheme for Sunday’s Kohler Grand Prix (12:30 p.m. ET/NBCSN/INDYCAR Radio Network) Jones will have First Data on his car instead.
Chip Ganassi Racing announced on Friday that First Data, a global leader in commerce-enabling technology, will partner with Jones and his team this weekend in Elkhart Lake. This expands the relationship that began when First Data joined CGR NASCAR teammate Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 car in 2016. The partnership grew to two primaries in 2017 with Kyle Larson and the No. 42 car and to five in 2018 with both Larson and McMurray in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
Now, it’s on the INDYCAR side too.
