David Malukas Leads Flag to Flag For 1st Career Pro Mazda Victory On Friday In Road America

ELKHART LAKE, Wis – Its been a dream weekend for David Malukas so far. Malukas, earned the pole for both Pro Mazda Series races on the 4.014-mile Road America road course then backed that first pole up with his first career victory in the series on Friday afternoon. Malukas, led flag to flag for his first career win in his No. 79 Mazda. He led all 15 laps en route to his third podium of the season.

He bested his BN Racing teammate of Toby Sowery by 1.4528-seconds in his No. 78 Mazda. 

Sowery, was making his first career start this weekend and impressed to say the least.

The next best was Harrison Scott who took his No. 10 Mazda to his fourth podium in the last six races on the season. He was 9.8737-seconds behind Malukas.

Parker Thompson and Rinus VeeKay rounded out the top five as that duo and Carlos Cunha had a heck of a battle over the last few laps for the fourth through sixth positions. That trio are the top three in the points standings as Thompson now leads VeeKay by 33 points heading into Saturday’s weekend finale.
