The Stewart-Haas Racing team has to be among the favorites to land in victory lane on Saturday night at the Kansas Speedway. After all, they’re among the top teams in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in 2018 too. They just had three cars finish in the top five last weekend at Dover and all four in the top 11.
But, at Kansas, they’re even better.
Take Kevin Harvick for example. He’s had seven top 10 finishes over his last nine Kansas starts. In fact, he’s finished in the top three in three of the last four races on the 1.5-mile track and six times over the last five years. He’s also led a ton of laps too. He led 138 laps, 119 laps, 61 laps, 53 laps, 21 laps, 0 laps, 74 laps, 10 laps and 37 laps respectively in his last nine starts there.
He dominated Las Vegas back in March too, so look for his No. 4 Ford to be strong.
So will Kurt Busch. He finished second last fall and has four top 10 finishes in his last six Kansas starts too. Clint Bowyer finished ninth in this very race last May and Aric Almirola was ninth last fall.
Look for SHR to be the ones to beat.
