Kevin Harvick has already won 3 races in-a-row once this season when he won the second, third and fourth races of the season consecutively. He dominated those races at Atlanta, Las Vegas and Phoenix respectively. Now, can he do it again? Harvick dominated in a win at Dover in early May. He led over half the race. He also won the last points paying race at Kansas two weeks ago when he made a late race pass on Martin Truex Jr. Heck, he even won the All-Star race last weekend at Charlotte. Now, can he sweep the entire Month of May in Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 (6 p.m. ET/FOX/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)?
If so, it would be an incredible feat. It would be reminiscent of the Harry Gant’s “Mr. September” era. To win every race in a span of an entire month would be incredible, let alone doing it in one of the most talked about months in racing – May.
It’s certainly possible too. Harvick, finished eighth and third respectively at Charlotte last season. Since, 2013, Harvick has six top three finishes on the 1.5-mile track. With three wins and a second place finish in four 1.5-mile starts this season, his No. 4 Ford is obviously one of the favorites this weekend. He’s the active leader in wins on 1.5-mile tracks of the last few years and will definitely have a car to reach victory lane on Sunday night.
If he can get six wins in the first 13 races of a season, well that would be a feat of historic proportions.
