JR Motorsports Drivers Struggle IN XFINITY Series Practice on Friday in Atlanta, Full Practice Report

HAMPTON, GA – The NASCAR XFINITY Series had two practice sessions on Friday afternoon at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. They were the lone two practice sessions of the weekend for the drivers. After the two sessions were completed, one thing was clear, JR Motorsports may struggle for some reason in Saturday’s Rinnai 250 (2 p.m. ET/FS1/PRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Out of the four JRM drivers in Atlanta this weekend, Tyler Reddick led the way for them as he was sixth and seventh respectively in the two sessions. Last week’s season opening winner at Daytona has his No. 9 Chevrolet dialed in for another good run on the 1.54-mile Georgia track.

Unfortunately, his other three teammates didn’t fare as well.

Elliott Sadler was second last weekend, but was just 13th and 12th respectively on Friday. Justin Allgaier was 14th in his No. 7 Chevrolet in each. Michael Annett was 19th and 21st respectively.

Not a good showing if you ask me.

But, they do have a veteran group and with tires falling off so quickly in Atlanta, maybe then can preserve their tires the best and charge through the field that way.

As far as who the ones to beat are, Christopher Bell is among the ones to beat. He was quickest in the first session and second in final practice. John Hunter Nemechek will be right there too as he had his No. 42 Chevrolet eighth and first respectively.

Cole Custer was third in both sessions himself.

Those are likely the three to beat, to go along with Kevin Harvick.
