What Can We Expect For Daytona 500 On Sunday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Now that the Clash and the Duels are in the rear view mirror, the picture is starting to become a little more clearer on what we can expect to see in Sunday’s 60th annual Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). While it’s still anyone’s guess on how the actual racing itself is going to play out this weekend, it appears the race is going to go either one of two ways. First off, it could be a single file freight train like we’ve seen for a…

Daniel Suarez Leads Friday’s Daytona 500 Practice

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – Friday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice sessions were somewhat tame. With 20-percent of the 40 car field already going to backup cars for Sunday’s Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET/FOX/MRN/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), most wanted to avoid carnage. That’s why they worked together in the draft with same manufacturers or teammates so practice crashing wouldn’t occur. But, at the end of the day, Joe Gibbs Racing and Daniel Suarez led the way. Suarez, was quickest in both sessions, turning a lap of 199.840 mph in the first practice…

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla – The NASCAR XFINITY Series drivers took to the race track for the first time of the 2018 season on Friday. 41 drivers took to the high banks of the Daytona International Speedway for two tame practices. On Friday, Tyler Reddick paced the way with a speed of 196.190 mph in his No. 9…

HOW I OBTAINED TICKETS FOR THE 1996 DAYTONA 500

I received a phone call from a friend asking if I knew anyone who wanted to sell race tickets to the 1996 Daytona 500. He knew that I had attended the “Firecracker 400” held in July at Daytona since 1985 and he thought I might know someone who had tickets for the Daytona 500. It seems the person that he and another friend sat with in previous Daytona 500’s had failed to renew their tickets. Back then the race was pretty much sold out and tickets were not easy to…
