INDIANAPOLIS – Danica Patrick and Go Daddy will reunite for a last hurrah this year as Patrick has secured funding from her old sponsor to race in this year’s Daytona 500 and the Indianapolis 500.
Back in November, Patrick, 35, revealed that she would no longer be seeking a full time ride in any series for 2018 and that she would race in the two biggest races in the world instead. Daytona would be her final NASCAR start while Indy will be not just her final INDYCAR start, but her final race of her career.
The only problem was that she made that announcement without having a ride or a sponsor secured. As the clock was heading towards zero, the chances of her finding a ride for both were getting slimmer by the day.
But, with a sponsor in place, the odds are back in her favor.
On Thursday morning, Patrick and Go Daddy announced on the FOX Business Channel that they have teamed up to make Patrick’s double come to light. While she didn’t announce who she will race with, having sponsorship money like Go Daddy will certainly open up more doors.
Go Daddy and Patrick have a great history together. Off the track, she’s appeared in a record 13 Super Bowl commercials with them. On track, Danica and Go Daddy first started their relationship in 2010. She would finish sixth and 10th respectively in the Indianapolis 500 with those colors on her car.
Go Daddy would follow her to NASCAR where she won the pole for the Daytona 500 with them in 2013. Unfortunately the relationship would end following the 2015 season as Go Daddy wanted to go in a different direction.
After not finding a deal, Patrick called up Go Daddy for help and they obliged for one last run.
