It’s JR Motorsports vs. Daniel Hemric for the 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series championship. While the title will likely stay with one of the JRM drivers, Justin Allgaier is hoping it’s him.
Allgaier, has been a tremendous talent in the XFINITY Series. The Illinois native has made 239 career starts in the series, reaching victory lane five times in those races. Furthermore, he has 52 top five finishes and 128 top 10’s as well.
In fact, Allgaier never has finished worse than sixth in the final season standings during this career in the series. He was sixth, fourth, third, sixth and fifth respectively in the final standings in his first stint in the series from 2009-2013. After two disappointing years in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, Allgaier returned to the XFINITY Series, this time with JR Motorsports.
He hasn’t disappointed in this great opportunity.
Allgaier, came home third in the final standings a year ago, and now heads back to the Homestead-Miami Speedway with a second straight shot at a championship. Allgaier, made the Championship 4 and is ready to be the one hoisting the championship trophy on Saturday afternoon.
He’s won twice this season, once at Phoenix in the spring, the other in the regular season finale at Chicagoland. Now, here Allgaier is with a chance to put his No. 7 Chevrolet in victory lane and a chance at a title.
It would be a popular one that’s for sure.
