Parker Thompson Dominates Race 2 of USF2000 Weekend at Mid-Ohio

Lexington, OH – Parker Thompson kept his hot streak going on Saturday afternoon at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, as he lead all 21 laps of race No. 2 of the USF2000 en route to his third victory over the last four races.

Thompson, 19, won both races in his home country of Canada at Toronto two weeks ago, and now he took his No. 90 Mazda back to victory lane for the seventh time of his USF2000 career. 

The Exclusive Autosport driver finished runner-up on Friday here too for 11 top fives in 13 races this season.

16-year old Rinus Veekay came home runner-up, 1.1713-seconds, behind Thompson for his eighth straight podium and 11th in 13 starts during his rookie year. He was third in his No. 21 Mazda on Friday.

Another rookie in Kaylen Frederick was third while Friday race winner and current points leader Oliver Askew finished fourth in his No. 3 Mazda.

Calvin Ming rounded out the top for the second straight race.

Askew, now leads VeeKay by just 14 points heading to the season finale at Watkins Glen on Labor Day weekend.
