Christopher Bell Wins Trucks Race at Pocono, Busch Involved In a Crash

Christopher Bell was out to prove that he can win away from dirt or 1.5-mile tracks. On Saturday afternoon from the Pocono Raceway, he did just that.

Christopher Bell during the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Overton’s 150 at Pocono Raceway on July 29, 2017 in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.

Bell, cruised to his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory of the season with taking the checkered flag first in his No. 4 Toyota for the Overton’s 150.

It was Kyle Busch Motorsports’ third straight victory at the Tricky Triangle, with Kyle Busch winning in 2015, William Byron in 2016 and now Bell this season.

But, if not for his team owner Kyle Busch getting crashed on Lap 36, his No. 51 Toyota might have been the one celebrating instead.

Busch, won the first two stages today but contact with Justin Haley’s No. 24 caused Busch to get into the outside SAFER barrier ending his day with a 25th place finish.

Another KBM driver in Noah Gragson saw his top 10 streak come to a crashing halt when he and fellow rookie Kaz Grala crashed hard on Lap 40. Gragson, previously had seven straight top 10 finishes.

Polesitter Ben Rhodes would bring his No. 27 Toyota home second while Ryan Truex would finish third in his No. 16 Toyota.

John Hunter Nemechek and Johnny Sauter would round out the top five.

Bell, now leads Sauter by 18 points heading to Michigan on Aug. 12.
