Plymouth, WI – Its been nearly one full month since the Indy Lights Series drivers were on the race track for a race, May 26 to be exact. Matheus Leist won the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that day.
Today, June 24, Leist continued that winning trend.
Leist, qualified his Carlin No. 26 Mazda on the pole, then the Brazilian backed that up with winning Saturday’s race at Road America. He led from the front drop of the green flag and never looked back, leading all 20 laps en route to his second career Lights victory.
He did so by 6.1667-seconds.
After finishes of 15th and 11th respectively to start the year off, Leist now has five top five finishes over his last six starts, including three straight podiums.

Points leader Kyle Kaiser came home third in his No. 18 Mazda for his fifth podium in the last six races, while rookie Ryan Newman brought his No. 48 Mazda home fourth.
