Daytona Police Investigating Bomb Threat That Was Called In To the Track On Thursday

Daytona Beach, Fla – In this day and age, any threat needs to be promptly investigated. That’s why the Daytona Beach Police Department and the Daytona International Speedway took it very seriously when just before 3 p.m. ET that they received a call that there were multiple bombs on the facility.

A quick and thorough search around the entire facility took place resulting in luckily nothing found and not even a trace of anything suspicious.

But, in the wake of the incident, the police department is taking this very seriously and still investigating the matter.

There were four 55-minute practice sessions at the 2.5-mile track on Thursday, two each for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR XFINITY Series. From multiple reports, it appears that the call came just prior to the opening Cup session.
