Claman DeMelo Wins 1st Career Indy Lights Race at Road America on Sunday

Today, they made it three wins in-a-row.

This time, it was Zachary Claman DeMelo’s turn, as he took his No. 13 Mazda to victory lane for the first time of his Indy Lights career. DeMelo, vaulted into second place just two laps into this morning’s race. Then, he was right on pole sitter Colton Herta’s bumper.

On Lap 5, DeMelo got by and never looked back en route to the victory in Race No. 2. He got past at the end of the long front stretch and used a push to pass entering Turn 1 to get by.

Points leader Kyle Kaiser came home runner-up again, for his sixth podium in the last seven races in his No. 18 Mazda.

After a disappointing 12th place run on Saturday, Herta stayed up front on Sunday and came away with a third place finish.
