Matheus Leist Dominates Friday’s Freedom 100

INDIANAPOLIS – It wasn’t the close finish that we’ve been accustomed to seeing in the annual Freedom 100 Indy Lights Series race, but it was still a thrilling one. Pole sitter Matheus Leist won his first career Indy Lights race on Friday, dominating the race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Leist, 19, led flag to flag, 40 total laps led overall, en route to his second straight podium finish.

Helio Castroneves Fastest in Final IndyCar Practice on Carb Day

INDIANAPOLIS – Team Penske wasn’t happy with their qualifying effort last weekend for this year’s 101st Running of the Indianapolis 500 (11 a.m. ET/ABC/INDYCAR Radio Network). Will Power was the only one to qualify in the top nine, with the rest coming from 18th on back. On Friday though, they showed that their race pace may prove to be the ones to beat.

James Hinchcliffe Blows Engine in Final Practice on Carb Day, Should Honda Be Worried?

INDIANAPOLIS – Just 29 laps into his Carb Day practice run, James Hinchcliffe blew an engine on his No. 5 Honda. What’s strange is the Schmidt-Peterson Motorsports driver just came out of his pit stall when the green flag came back out. But, if this was a fluke occurrence, it would be one thing, but this is becoming a bad trend for Honda engines.
