Leeds, Ala – Shelby Blackstock is on the verge of his first career Indy Lights Series victory. Blackstock, finished fourth and sixth respectively at St. Pete and fourth and fifth at Barber a year ago. With being on top in Friday’s practice session, Blackstock in his No. 51 Belardi entry is certainly going to be a favorite in the two races this weekend.
Garth Rickards was second overall in his No. 11 Carlin entry with a lap around the 2.3-mile facility in 1:15.2030-seconds.
Zachary Claman de Melo was third quickest with a speed of 1:15.3083-seconds in his No. 13 entry. Kyle Kaiser (1:15.4235-seconds) and rookie Colton Herta (1:15.4418-seconds) rounded out the top five.
Herta, led an Andretti Autosport brigade with them having three cars in the top eight of the speed charts.
The series will qualify at 8:40 am in the morning before Race No. 1 at 2 pm local time.
