Justin Allgaier Leads XFINITY Series Practice on Friday in Bristol

Due to a morning rain shower and lingering rain forcasted for later today, NASCAR gave the XFINITY Series teams just 55-minutes of practice this weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Luckily, that session was able to be run to completion without mother nature interfering.

In that pratice, Dash 4 Cash contender Justin Allgaier topped the speed charts with a lap around the 1/2-mile Tennessee oval at 124.420 mph in his No. 7 Chevrolet. Allgaier, won the Dash 4 Cash by virtue of his victory at Phoenix back in March, and now has his sights set on going 2-for-2 at Bristol. 

Last year’s spring race winner at Bristol Erik Jones was second on the speed chart with a speed of 123.722 mph in his No. 20 Toyota. Cup points leader Kyle Larson was third fastest with a lap of 123.594 mph in his No. 42 Chevrolet while Ryan Blaney was fourth at 123.515 mph in his No. 22 Ford.

The Dillon brothers were fifth and sixth respectively with last year’s summer race winner Austin Dillon being fifth (123.380 mph) in his No. 2 Chevrolet while Ty Dillon was sixth in his No. 3 Chevrolet with a speed of 123.221 mph.

The series will qualify tomorrow morning before racing at 1 pm ET on Saturday afternoon (FS1/PRN).
