Kyle Busch Dominates X-Finity Series Race at Phoenix, Championship 4 Set

AVONDALE, AZ – In a race where the importance was on the inaugural NASCAR X-Finity Series Chase, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver stole the show. The top four drivers in the X-Finity Series standings tonight advanced to the final round at Homestead for next weekend’s championship deciding race. Also, it was his record extending 10th X-Finity Series victory in the desert.

Busch, started on the pole and led a race-high 190 of the 200 laps this evening as he was by far the driver to beat. He reinherited the lead when he passed Chase contender Justin Allgaier on Lap 154 when he moved him out of the way in Turn 1.

He would never look back.

Austin Dillon brought his No. 2 Chevrolet home second for his 10th top five of the year for the former series champion. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. finished third in his No. 60 Ford in his first start of the season.

Two Chasers in Justin Allgaier and Daniel Suarez rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth respectively.

Blake Koch was four points out as he came home eighth on Saturday night.

Ryan Reed brought his No. 16 Ford home sixth for his third top 10 of the Chase, but it wasn’t enough as he was seven points behind.
