Joe Gibbs Racing are obviously the ones to beat this season, as all four of their drivers are currently in the top five in the Chase for the Sprint Cup grid with four races to go in the regular season. With that being said, it shouldn’t come to a shock that they’re going to be the ones to beat again this weekend at the Bristol Motor Speedway. The only question that remains is, which driver will be the one to win?
In my opinion, that’s an easy one to answer – Carl Edwards.
In three short track races this season, Edwards reached victory lane in two of them. He won the Spring race at Bristol and backed that up with a victory the very next week in Martinsville. If you even want to throw in the Phoenix International Raceway race back in March in this mix too, which that track races like a short track, Edwards finished second in a photo finish with Kevin Harvick.
He finished sixth.
Four short track starts this season with finishes of first, first, second and sixth with one of those wins already being at Bristol. That’s why he’s my favorite to win this weekend and sweep the year at the high banked Tennessee short track.
Edwards, has four top seven finishes including two wins in his last five Bristol starts. He’s won there four times during the course of his career and has an average finish of 14.25.
You want your winner? He’s the guy to watch.
