Kevin Harvick Wins Photo Finish With Carl Edwards In Phoenix

Just when we think we couldn’t top a finish like we saw in this year’s Daytona 500, Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards treated us to one of the most exhilarating NASCAR finishes ever.

Harvick and Edwards battled side-by-side off the exit of Turn 4 around the 1.022-mile Phoenix International Raceway as Harvick bumped his way into victory lane for the first time of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season and for the sixth time in the last eight races at PIR.

The margin of victory?

0.010-seconds which was the closest in NASCAR history at Phoenix.

Harvick, qualified 18th, but moved up through the field rather easily, as he led a race high 139 of the 313 laps on Sunday.

Edwards, was led 65 Laps himself, as he narrowly lost today as he earned his fourth top five finish in five races this season.

Edwards’ Joe Gibbs Racing teammate who was victorious in that thrilling Daytona 500 finish Denny Hamlin finished third while another JGR driver in Kyle Busch finished fourth after leading 75 laps today from the pole.

Last year’s fall winner here in Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounded out the top five in today’s action.

The race featured five cautions and only four different leaders as the only kind of troubles we saw today were a direct result of blown tires.

The series returns to racing for the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on March 13th (3:30 p.m. ET, FOX).
